What is Myofascial Release?

Myofascial Release Therapy is a hands-on natural technique that releases and unwinds tension from the fascial system. Trauma and repetitive motions create fascial restrictions that cause pain anywhere in the body.

What is Fascia?

Fascia is the 3-dimensional web that connects and surrounds every system and cell in the body.

How is MFR different from other therapies?

Other types of bodywork and therapies follow a protocol or recipe for treating a specific part of the body. At Southwest Myofascial Release we use a holistic or whole body approach that engages the fascial system. The therapist follows your body’s roadmap to the source of the imbalance, applying treatment along the way.

How many sessions will it take to feel results?

Everyone is unique but we have found that after 2-3 sessions you feel long-lasting improvements.

How long does a session last?

Your individually tailored session will last one hour.

Why is my therapist treating areas other than where my symptoms are?

Myofascial tension in one area can affect and cause pain in other areas. Since fascia is an interconnected web, the restriction in one area becomes the source of tension to other areas of the body; like a chain reaction or domino effect.
